Gladiolus is an ornamental bulbous plant native to South Africa, known as Sward lily belongs to monocot family Iridadceae, having approximately 150 known species. It has its natural habitat in the Mediterranean regions and South Africa. Gladiolus is one of the most important bulbous cut flowers in the flower industry and has great economic value as a cut flower and for decoration and known as queen among the bulbous flower. The demand of cut flower increases day by day.
Gladiolus come in a very wide range of colours. Colours available include (just to name a few): Apricot, Burgandy, Coral, Cream, Green, Lavender, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, Salmon, White, and Yellow. To top it off bi-colour varieties are also available.
